NGAM Features Montenegro Adventures

Montenegro Adventures is featured in the March issue of the National Geographic Adventure Magazine, the fastest-growing magazine in the adventure travel category - covering new exciting travel destinations and outdoor trips, giving a range of locations and tips.

In the "Where Next" column and under the title "Dalmatian Dash" a journey through Croatia and Montenegro is described as "the ultimate Balkan road trip" and the second part of the article refers to the newest independent country as "a home to an upstart adventure scene, thanks in part to the Bond film Casino Royale".

In June 2007, Montenegro Adventures created an itinerary and spent 14 days with the writer and photographer that worked on the NGAM assignment. The itinerary included meetings with the kayaking club from Podgorica, kayaking on the River Moraca and Lake Skadar with a visit to Plavnica, scuba diving in Milocer and Boka Bay, cruising in Boka, and kite surfing in Ulcinj, a visit to Lake Skadar National Park, and staying in a village. The trip also included two northern national parks and activities such as tandem paragliding over the primeval forest of Biogradska Gora National Park and a visit to the katuns (shepherds summer settlements on high altitude pastures). Hiking, biking and orienteering in Durmitor National Park were followed by a two-day rafting expedition on the River Tara, a UNESCO world heritage site, protected as part of a network of international biosphere preserves.
