In the heart of the Biogradska Gora National Park
The virgin forest of the Biogradska Gora National Park is unsurpassed in the North of Montenegro and is one of the three remaining primeval forests in Europe. The central position is occupied by a beautiful lake, a place where in the distant past a river of ice stopped, melted and created a body of dark and changing water, varying from grey, leaden to iridescent pearl. By taking this trip your senses will come alive as you discover an incredible variety of vegetation and glistening mountain peaks from the shores of the Biogradsko Lake.
Day one - Picnic on Biogradsko Lake
We will leave Podgorica at 8 am and have a one and a half hour scenic drive through the Moraca Canyon to the National Park entrance. The huge broad-leaf trees will welcome you as you approach the Biogradsko Lake. A step further, a rewarding grill with refreshments in the designated picnic area by the lake will fulfill your experience. This relaxed stay in untouched natural surroundings, combined with a leisure hike on a circuit path around the lake will be completed with an entertainment program for your children. After spending a nice afternoon by the lake, participants of this day trip will be taking the same road back to Podgorica. Departure is planned around 6 pm.
